Clicking the Refresh Button on your Outdoor Living Spaces

With the warm weather quickly approaching,  Now is a good time to consider a little refreshing of outdoor areas. During this time of year we all love being outdoors.

While refreshing our flower beds ,we may also want to consider other things that may need our attention outdoors. such as:  does the deck need re-staining?, has the furniture seen better days? Do the cushions, pillows, rug  etc. need replacing? Adding color to your pots can add interest.

Lights under the umbrella adds a nice ambiance at night. These snap right to your umbrella pole

or how about this great idea I found on Pinterest, to create your own outdoor lamp using solar lighting.

Adding a new rug, new pillows even outdoor curtains ,can transform your space. With that said Here's some inspiration photo's to get you motivated from my Pinterest board. What will you do to refresh your space?

Highlights of High Point Market Part 2

Welcome back for more High Point Highlights. Some time ago (a few months back) I talked about how gold was making a comeback. Well it was very evident at Bernhardt. just check out this bed from Bernhardt Interiors

Color was everywhere this market. A sight for sore eyes after this past winter. I literally felt like singing Pharell's "Happy" song in some of the showrooms . So refreshing.

I also always love going into Century. Their showroom is so beautiful.

I also found some things at Studio A that caught my eye.

Hope you enjoyed the highlights. Remember to Live Life Beautifully!

Highlights from High Point

High Point Market was great as always. As promised here's a few highlights from High Point. Lets start with Visual Comfort, where I spied the lovely Aerin Lauders new lighting line. If you haven't heard of Aerin she is the granddaughter of Estee Lauder (perfume, skincare mogul) and founder / visionary of AERIN, a lifestyle brand that creates cosmetics, fashion accessories and home decor. With her lighting line being shown at Visual Comfort, I made a bee line there to see it. I especially loved this one
I mean how gorgeous is that!
Aerin not only has released a lighting line, but also a book  (Beauty At Home) . It just so happens she was having a book signing the day I was there and I was one of the lucky 100 to receive her new book.
Aerin and me (yeah I'm looking tired, because I was!)
Visual Comfort also carries lines by Barbara Barry, Suzanne Kasler and Micheal Smith to name a few. Here's a quick look at some that caught my eye.

It was then off to Market Suites to find "My new Find"."My New Find" is something I didn't see at last market, that inspires me and can possibly be used on a project. This market it was "V".  I fell in love with their custom pillows. You can can the colors and materials to suit your needs. Take a look:

Speaking of pillows Elaine Smith's outdoor pillow showroom showcased beautiful selections as well

There's a lot more to show you. I'm just getting started so stay tuned. As always if there's something you'd like more info on please contact me at marshabinteriors@gmail.com  Remember to Live Life Beautifully!

Nate Berkus American Dream Builders

In case you missed it last night Nate Berkus new show "American Dream Builders " premiered last night on NBC. All and all I quite enjoyed it. The show is about 12 designers who split up into two teams (The Blue Team and The Red Team) to then renovate a home.  Each team selects a site manager from their group and each week someone is eliminated. As always there's a little drama. (A lot of ego flying around). Last night the theme was "We've outgrown our house."  You can learn more about the show and contestants Here. But here's a look at the teams before and afters. Blue Team:

Red Team:

In case you're interested the Blue team won. The Red Team's bathroom missed the mark for sure.
In case you're interested the Blue Team won . The bathroom for the red team missed the mark for sure and so the site manger was eliminated. Although I though the person that thought of redoing the cabinets and the person working on them were just as much to blame.
Next week should be fun. Live Life Beautifully!
